Companion Dog Guarantee

 

 

“Companion Dog” means this puppy is being sold as a pet only rather than for breeding or show purposes. This simply means that no warranties or guarantees, expressed or implied are made under this contract that this puppy is intended as a show prospect or a breeder. Please note that even though this puppy is a “companion dog” every precaution has been taken to see that your new puppy is in excellent health and well adjusted. The agreement between Pure Silk Kennels and the “Buyer” is as stated below:

 

 

  1. ALL Companion Dogs sold by Pure Silk Kennels are accompanied by their AKC Limited registration. If AKC registration papers have not yet been received at time of sale they will be provided to the buyer as soon as Pure Silk Kennels receives the papers from AKC.   Initial _____

 

  1. Agreement of SPAY/NUTER before the AKC limited Registration certificate is issued:       YES__X__ NO_____ Initial _____

 

  1. All veterinarian visits, lab work, or any medical procedures are done at the expense of the Buyer. In the event that the puppy is found to have a genetic defect or life-threatening illness due to proven genetic problems and/or birth defects, this puppy may be returned for another puppy of the same sex and quality if available.  The puppy must have a veterinarian’s written documentation of the condition, and Pure Silk Kennels shall happily replace the puppy. All documentation and registration papers must be returned to Pure Silk Kennels in order for the replacement to be granted. Initial _____

 

  1.  This puppy is being guaranteed for two (2) years to allow the Buyer adequate time to ensure the health of their puppy. Initial _____

 

  1. If the Buyer decides to decline the purchase of the puppy for any reason after placing the 500.00 deposit and prior to receiving the puppy. Pure Silk Kennels will retain the deposit to cover all cost involved with finding the puppy a new home.   1. If the buyer decides to sell or place the dog in a new home, Pure Silk Kennels has the right of first refusal. Initial _____

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Buyer agrees to: Annual veterinary check-ups; Heartworm check ups; Current immunizations according to the American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines; Properly administer heartworm prevention; Provide adequate housing according to state law; Confine the dog to a fenced yard while outdoors; Walk the dog on a leash and harness. Never restrain with a rope or chain. Initial _____

 

  1. In the event that this puppy is found to be in a situation that would be considered hazardous to the puppy’s health, well-being and/or soundness of mind Pure Silk Kennels retains the right to remove the puppy from any hostile conditions that maybe detrimental to the puppy. Initial_____

 

  1. Any unauthorized breeding through other kennel clubs will be grounds to have this puppy removed from the Buyer immediately. Initial_____

 

  1. All legal disputes will be handled in Bexar County. Initial_____

 

  1. If a heartworm preventative containing Ivermectin (Heart Guard) is given to a dog weighing less than 4 lbs. Or any heartworm medication given to any dog under two pounds All Health Guarantees are void. The recommended preventative is Interceptor or Sentinal (Ciba-Goigy). Initial ____

 

  1. The Buyer agrees to discuss all vaccinations with their veterinarian. Buyer should educate himself or herself on the risk associated with vaccination. Certain vaccinations like “Lepto” or “Corona” run very high risk to toy breed dogs. Initial ____

 

  1. The Buyer agrees to never give a “Rabies” vaccination within the same week as any other vaccinations.  Initial ____

 

  1. This guarantee does not cover neglect or injury caused by the buyer. If puppy dies of natural causes within the (2) two year period, an autopsy must be performed on the puppy to determine the cause of death by a mutually agreed upon veterinary clinic. Initial_____

 

  1. Hypoglycemia is not covered in this contract and is the Buyers sole responsibility to ensure that the puppy’s blood sugar level stays at a healthy level at all times. This will be reviewed in great detail before the puppy is sent home. In the unlikely event that the puppy does become ill the Buyer must contact Pure Silk Kennels immediately to ensure the continued health of the puppy. Initial _____

 

 

  1. If you would like to donate to the “Paws of Love” please include the amount you would like to share. This program was put together by people who unfortunately know the pain of losing a loved one. The program is designed to help people just like you in a time of unprecedented loss of a loved and cherished family member, their pet.

I do not recommend changing the puppy’s diet immediately but if you decide to please do it gradually. A good supplement of calories and vitamins that I use is Nutri-Cal. Puppies love it. Do not let young children handle the new puppy unsupervised until the puppy is older because this could result in injury to the puppy.

 

 

If your new puppy does not act properly, appears weak, does not eat, has loose stool or starts vomiting notify your veterinarian immediately. Do not expose your new puppy to strays or unvaccinated pets until a series of vaccinations are finished.
