Teeth
The teeth are a very important factor that is of vital
importance to all toy breeds. Many life threatening diseases can be linked to
poor dentakl care and gum infections. All toy breeds
tend to have dental problems which is why it is very
important to keep your dogs teeth clean on a regular basis. Regular brushing of
your dog’s teeth will help keep down tartar build up and reduce gum disease.
Annual visits to your veterinarian will also help keep the teeth polished and
clean to avoid any unessesary dental loss. You can
buy your dogs dental supplies at your local veterinarian and talk with them
about the best prevention for your dog.
Below are some pictures of a dog with sever plaque and gum disease. This is the result of not maintaining the dog’s teeth in between dental visits. Plaque build up is very common in toys and any one who owns a toy breed should be prepared to care for their dog’s teeth as part of their regular maintenance.
