What is a Puppy Mill?

This is an establishment that mass produces puppies through huge dog-breeding facilities. These types of businesses have been around for decades. The only thing we can do to try and protect the poor animals that are subjected to this inhumane lifestyle is to try and educate as many people as possible to keep them from buying those adorable puppies in the pet store window, fancy Internet site, or their local newspaper.

Behind these façade there more often than not is a large puppy mill operation. These puppy mils keep their breeding stock in horrific conditions. The dogs are kept as “breeding stock” which translates into money. These breeders are often kept in cages their entire lives without human companionship and often die in wretched conditions. They never become part of a family and often need to be put down because of either health or mental issues. The sad out come is that these unloved puppies breed in horrific conditions with no care for how they are breed end up with many behavior and/or health problems.

Please don't contribute to the industry of the puppy mills by purchasing from a pet store. No reputable breeder would EVER send her babies to be sold at a store with no interest in who was purchasing the baby or if they were right for each other. A pet store only wants your money. Always check any breeder you by your puppy from, the internet is a great way to disguise the horrific practice of these puppy mills.
